Thus I can’t do anything with comments that say “it does not work with wp 2.9″. Because it does work. Although if you can’t see any difference for example in widgets, it  can be a theme issue. Or if it’s suddenly stop working, it can be an ISP issue, who upgraded PHP wihtout notifying you.

Please, if you really want to help, stop saying “it does not work”, please describe the problem correctly, than I could help ypu work it out.

About the new version

New exclusion sections have been added like 404 error page, Attachment page and so on.
New native Categories widgets support have been added, and there is a new configuration page for Categories Widget. Recent comments and Recent posts configuration is on the way. It will be available in final ACE 1.5.

And also some translations have been submitted in the mean time.
I’ll include them as well.

ACE 1.4 will be released during this week, and it will contain

• bugfix for Archives widget (reported by Thomas)
• new sections (by the request of Robert)
• and the new Page exclusion feature for sure.

And maybe Blogroll link exclusion as well, If I ‘ll have time for that last one.

• I’ve added a help text under each setting to provide more help to our users, understand what does that particluar option mean
• Integration with Google XML SItemap plugin. This means, your can manipulate not only your RSS feeds, but your sitemap as well, if you want to. I say that, because it is totally optional.

In the next release I’ll come up with more integration and import functions.

The next version of ACE has just came out. It contains main improvements, accodring to user requests, and it works with WordPress 2.7. Well, nothing serious changed in the new WordPress release that would prevent ACE to work as epected, but it sounds great anyway

First of all, you’ll notice a new option in the options tab. With this option you can set, if you only want to enble exclusion in the widgets. Of course it will have NO affect, if you are not using our bundeled widgets

Another brand new stuff will be in the sections. You’ll find a Disable robots section. If you check this, every post in the selected category will be hidden from web crawlers, even if All in One SEO pack is installed

There are some improvements as well. You’ll notice, that now widgets works more than perfectly. Let’s say you are at your home page, and you have excluded a category from the front, and also from the widgets. You won’t see any comment to any post in that category, even if you go deeper, into the blog. But if you are listing that categories posts, our you are watching a post that is in that excluded category, suddenly your recent comments, and recent posts widgets will show you the entries related to those categories. Cute, huh?

This version contains own widgets, that can be activated also in the plugins tab.

Currently we have 3 widgets:

• ACE Recent Comments
• ACE Recent Posts
• ACE Categories

Each of them can be used to replace, the original sidebar widgets. The options, and the functionality is the same, as the original ones, except, that these widgets do support your exclusion options.

By the way, this is the first version when I bundle translations as well.
A big thank you goes out to Mikael Jorhult for the Swedish translation, and I did the hungarian one.

I accept translations for other languages, thus I included the POT file, for localizers. SO translations are always welcome.

To be honest it was compatible with WP 2.6 before, and only the localization needs the correct wp-content directory path.

Update
In the mean time, I found another bug, accoriding to the Dashboard. So 1.2.2 is the current version.

It has only 2 new features:

• It now supports custom admin themes, and menu re stylers, such as Ohz Admin Drop Down Menu, Fluency Admin
• Localization support

After more than a half year I came out, with the next version of my favorite plugins. In some forums, they call it as the only alternative to create CMS-like functionality in WordPress.

To tell the truth, I’m glad, because for the last half year WordPress.org reached 4000+ downloads of this plugin. And I’m thankful, for all of you commenting, and supporting me, with your bug reports.

But, now, get the facts:

• Category listing filter added and works together with category lister widgets
• Fully tested and bugfixed for WordPress 2.1
• Bugfixed the missing-categories case
• Bugfixed link category handling
• Restructured Dashboard

Important notice about widgets:
Currently the built-in widgets are very hard to customize, because the authors did not think about customization of them. So the solution will be, to release some customizable widgets, that does the same as the original ones, but enables the capability to fine tune the options we needed for category exclusion and friends…

But today I’ll came back to work, and also I’ve picked up the plugin developement as well.
For the last hour I was debuging together with Joakim, who I also send a big thank you. Not just for reporting a bug, but creating a test environment, that I can reproduce the bug.

So, another bugfix release is out.
